Owner/Director, Loretta D. Boyer McClellan brings to
MAINE INSPIRATIONS over 20 years of professional fine art, graphic design and literary talent and 10 years of landscape design flair. With an Associates Degree in Art from West Valley College in Saratoga, CA and a B.A. Fine Art Major with emphasis in Painting from BYU-Hawaii, her education rounds out the decades of professional experience she possesses.

From an age as early as 6 in Miss Bianchini's first grade class at Latimer Elementary in San Jose, CA, Loretta demonstrated an aptitude for artistic endeavors. Winning art talent and journalism design awards and participating in art shows at Latimer elementary school and at Campbell and Prospect High Schools in the Campbell Union High School District in Northern California, they paved the way for collegiate-level recognition. At West Valley College, one of her paintings was stolen from an art gallery show-a first in the history of that institution. It was an acrylic, analogous blue & green, parallelogram-shaped non-objective canvas that she stretched herself that was taken, a piece that Loretta hopes the receiver has enjoyed and shared with others, wherever it may be. At BYU-Hawaii, Loretta was the recipient of two Art Talent Awards, based on professional-level talent demonstration and portfolios and face to face interviews.

It was at the age of 18, while still a college student that Loretta's professional art career took flight. Learning design 'on the drawing board' with pen and ink helped precisely forge her ability as an artist that few find available today. There truly are advantages of a steady hand creating on vellum that one can't compare with today's purely digitally rendered images.

During this time, Loretta's first art studio was culminated. Painting, illustrations, graphic design, as well as private art instruction were her mainstay. Soon after her studio inception, Loretta additionally contributed to the U.S. Department of Defense's efforts through supervising technical illustration and graphic design teams as well as her own fine art; this took place for several Silicon Valley-based companies, demonstrating artistic prowess, artistic leadership as well as an adherence to national security guidelines. Her studio was moved to several states in the U.S. while retaining and gaining additions to her national clientele. It is her life experience in multiple regions of the country that brings a perception to her art that can only improve her imagination and creativity.

Over the next decade Loretta's creative spectrum broadened to include a re-emphasis in jewelry design, poetry, fictional writing, editing and contributing to local newspapers; this included several national newsletter publishing and editing circulations for various international women's and educational organizations. After a successful Real Estate course and subsequent licensing as an Illinois Real Estate Salesperson, Loretta began bringing her design talent into the Real Estate Industry. Her sales presentation materials were highly sought after by even the most seasoned Real Estate Brokers. In addition, in 2002 Loretta was recognized as an International Musician's Award recipient for outstanding lyric composition. It is Loretta's literary expertise that sets a higher standard for design companies for website text as well as brochures and other printed materials.

Another facet to Loretta's professional life is her interest in community service. In both Illinois and Massachusetts, Loretta was an Art Volunteer. She would present educational seminars, fine art instruction, appreciation and hands-on art demonstrations to students in K-5th grades. In addition, Loretta has served in Illinois, Massachusetts and Maine as a BSA trained Cub Scout Den Leader, Committee Member and Assistant Cub Master. For 2 years in Illinois, Loretta also served as President of a local chapter of the oldest women's humanitarian aide organization in the U.S. With a love of history, Loretta also served for 3 years in Massachusetts and a year in Illinois on town historical commissions.

Having been born in and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area of California home of 'Silicon Valley' for most of her life, Loretta ventured to experience living in other parts of the U.S., including island life on Oahu Hawaii, 4 years in a suburb of Boston where she fell in love with New England, 4 years in a suburb of Chicago bordering farmland and now a 'very much at home' resident of Washington County, Maine in the town of Machias. It is here in picturesque Downeast Maine that Loretta has found a place of true beauty that inspires and where neighbors help each other on a regular basis. Her best work to date has emanated from this pristine location-a place worth the drive.
